Two New Patterns!

Today is finally the day that I can share my latest and greatest patterns with you!xxxx

First up is the Cabernet Cardigan.

Confession, I am not a knitter or crochet-er but I do love my sweater cardigans. Rather than spend a small fortune each season at Madewell or Jcrew, I took matters into my own hands to create an easy layering piece that is great for ponte knits or sweater knits that always seem intriguing at the fabric store, but you never know what to make with them, until now.

The Cabernet Cardigan comes in three different silhouettes:

View A- long and relaxed fit with 3/4 or long sleeves

View B- short and relaxed fit with 3/4 or long sleeves

View C- short and fitted body with 3/4 or long fitted sleeves

For those worried about consuming a whole tree with the PDF printout for so many option, don’t worry. View A & B are one PDF and view C is separate, but all views are included in your purchase.

I really love this style because I want the look of a boyfriend cardi, but all of the RTW options are too long for a petite torso and the shoulders are too droopy which doesn’t make a top look small and cute. The Cabernet Cardigan is perfectly proportioned to not actually look like your dad’s old man sweater. Also, I played around with different shoulder grading for this style, especially for the curvy chick sizes because, let’s face it, your shoulder width doesn’t really increase with your size. I like to think of it as improving upon a classic.

Then there there is my fave- The Pinot Pants

I never thought I would find myself loving this type of style so much because I’m not a leggings type of gal. I like to keep my butt in jeans thank you very much. But once you have a pair of pants like this it’s all you want to wear. I even made up a version is a thick, rich, black, Italian ponte knit and I wear them out to casual dinners paired with a slouchy sweater and my ballet flats. But most saturdays you will find me grading patterns at my computer curled up in the chair, wearing these pants.
Let’s get something out of the ways right now. These are elasticized pull on pants, but they are not like the ones your Granny made you as a kid- all bunchy and stuff. No, these are flat against the waist, fitted through the hips and thighs, then flares out ever so slightly at the bottom hem so you can wear them with practically any kind of shoe (ballet flats or the grungy ones you throw on to walk the dog). Petite height can vary, so I have included 5 different inseam lengths.
